2016 StreetFest ArtPark to Bring Creativity Explosion to Downtown

At StreetFest, we bring you a lot of artists. But maybe the best part is that we also help you discover new ones -- and let you watch the creative process.

The Music

The Indie Rock Stage will host local bands and DJs: Foxy Mojo, Biscuit Roller, Trost House, Kilo & the Dew, Vibes Arise & DJ Who.

The Utopian DJ Stage features local DJs mixing up tracks in front of the Art Museum.  PLUS, this stage hosts a new festival feature: RAP BATTLES.  Over a dozen rappers will battle it out on Friday, and the top rappers will meet head-to-head for the final battle on Saturday. Winner receives $100 cash and bragging rights.

The Art

In the Art Park’s third year at the festival, features will be added to enhance the guest experience.

First, the return of the StreetFest Live Art Contest! Artists are given a large wooden canvas to create their StreetFest themed masterpiece.  The pieces are judged by the festival committee on StreetFest Theme, Aesthetics, Uniqueness and Performance (crowd reaction). Winner receives $200 cash and bragging rights. (Last year ended in a tie with Victor Soto’s “Undone” and Robert Garcia’s “Rob Zombie”)

Los Visionaries, a local collective art group, will create a Progressive Mural featuring popular landmarks from around the city.

A Moving Mural (new feature) will come to life as dancers step out from the painted mural wall created by local artist StuArt.
